The Kaleidoscope Trolley

A mobile interactive work of art

In 1817 the kaleidoscope was invented.* For the 200th anniversary this Victorian style artwork with some steampunk elements was created. The exhibition can also be open air in action, so to speak as a "walk-act" and will be accompanied by me, (also in Victorian style).
A feast for the eyes (on wheels),

created and presented by the creative inventor

Imaginatius von Leuchtsinn (alias Lothar Lempp)

Parallel to the kaleidoscopes, I have been on the road since 2001 as a stage performer, clown and puppeteer. This project is so to speak the connection between two arts.

(see www.lothar-lempp.de)

This event is suitable for a variety of occasions and fascinates children

and adults alike,

e.g. at the following occasions:

- Museum Actions

- street theater festival

- company party

- Halloween

-Christmas party, Christmas market (and other winter events /

actions at Christmas and in the pre-Christmas / Advent season)

- Garden Show

- Steampunk Event, Neo Victorian, Fantasy

- Long Shopping Night, Art Night etc.

- Private party

- If something complementary to the theme "stars", "flowers",

"beautiful illusions" or "Victorian age", "Biedermeier"...

is searched...

And of course, if it is about optics and reflections, because the inventor Imaginatius von Leuchtsinn can explain vividly with the help of models how a kaleidoscope works.

* The mirror principle of kaleidoscopes was known for a long time but the classical form with tube and object chamber was developed in 1816 by the Scottish scientist and inventor Sir David Brester and patented in 1817.

Technical details: length 3m / width 1.40m / height 3m. The trolley can also be transported indoors over stairs and in the elevator, because it can be disassembled.
The trolley is currently equipped with 12 large kaleidoscopes. Lighting also allows actions in the dark.

The Kaleidoscope Trolley offers spectators the opportunity to actively turn and crank kaleidoscopes and evoke and discover unique colorful worlds. Glass objects in kaleidoscopes create ever-changing flowers and stars, looking through the two teleidoscopes provides a whole new view of the outside world, and live drawing takes place on a kaleidoscope.

Also new variants are to be seen, among them the "3D kaleidoscope" and as a world premiere, the "water vortex kaleidoscope", as an unprecedented invention of the ingenious Imaginatius of Leuchtsinn* ( *=Steampunk alter Ego).
